The Toby Evans and Marilyn Grigas Memorial Scholarships
In an effort to support music education, the Long Bay Symphony Guild offers two needs-based financial scholarships for talented Long Bay Youth Symphony members. These financial awards may be used for furthering the musical training of the recipients, to include music camps, instrument maintenance and repair, or other musical endeavors.
Scholarship recipients are required to assist with the weekly LBYS stage set-up and teardown, sorting music, and other related duties as assigned by the Youth Orchestra Manager. Interested students should complete and submit the applications found below each scholarship description.
The Toby Evans Memorial Youth Orchestra Scholarship is open to all members of the Long Bay Youth Symphony. This scholarship may only be used for summer music camps or other similar programs.
Deadline for submission is one month prior to need, no later than May 1st of each year.

Named after a former Long Bay Symphony Guild President, the Marilyn Grigas Memorial Scholarship is open to all members of the Long Bay Youth Symphony. Marilyn taught music for 30 years, was a long-time member of the Symphony Guild, and served as Guild President from 2011 to 2014. This scholarship is a financial-needs based award that may be used to sponsor instrument repair and maintenance, instrument rental or purchase, or other special projects for youth orchestra students.

A Long Bay Youth Symphony Work Study/Tuition Waiver Grant is available to those who require financial assistance and are qualified, willing, and able to assist with orchestra set-up and teardown at weekly rehearsals and performances.
